5 Questions to Ask Before Choosing an Interior Designer
The short list of questions that separates a good fit from an expensive mistake.
A portfolio shows you what a studio can produce on its best project with its most agreeable client. These five questions tell you what working with them is actually like.
1. Who will run my project day to day?
The principal who charms you at the first meeting is often not the person answering your messages in month four. Ask for the name.
2. How many projects are active right now?
Capacity is the single strongest predictor of whether your timeline holds.
3. What happens when something goes wrong on site?
Every renovation has a bad week. You are hiring the response, not the absence of problems.
4. What is excluded from this quotation?
Exclusions are where budgets quietly double. Get them in writing before you sign.
5. Can I speak to a client from two years ago?
Recent clients are still glowing. Clients two years in know how the joinery held up.
